Tech Radar (beta)

Website technology intelligence — see what any website is built with, via API and MCP, at a fraction of BuiltWith's price

Tech Radar is wordradar's second data face, now in private beta: website technology intelligence — what a site is built with, which sites use a given technology, and alerts when stacks change.

What it does

  • Tech lookup — query any domain and get its detected stack: CMS, frameworks, analytics, marketing pixels, hosting/CDN signals. Free tier covers individual lookups.
  • Sites using X — the reverse query: which domains use a technology, filterable and paginated. The same data powers our programmatic pages.
  • New sites by tech — our differentiator. Because wordradar already runs a new-site radar (hundreds of newly launched domains per day), we can tell you which new sites start out on Shopify, WordPress, React, or any tracked technology — an incremental signal the incumbents don't expose at entry-level pricing.
  • Change alerts — subscribe to domains or technologies and get notified when a site adds or drops a technology.

Pricing during beta

Tech queries run on the same credits as the keyword APIs — no separate account, no separate payment. Change alerts will be a small add-on subscription ($9/mo planned) once GA.

Early bird: the first supporters on the waitlist lock a one-time $29 early-bird offer before public pricing lands.

Positioning (honestly)

BuiltWith indexes 491M domains with 41 years of history — nothing beats that archive, and we don't try. Tech Radar competes on:

  1. Price — incumbents gate their APIs at $199–295/mo; we aim at the $20–49 range on the same credits system as the rest of wordradar.
  2. MCP-native — query tech stacks from any AI agent via our MCP server, alongside the keyword tools.
  3. New-site increment — detection results joined with our new-site radar, something an archive-first product doesn't lead with.

Roadmap

PhaseScope
Beta (fake door)This page + waitlist; we measure real demand before building
AlphaDetection on radar-sighted domains; tech_lookup / sites_using API + MCP tools
GAChange alerts, ICANN zone-file ingestion for full new-domain coverage, per-technology pages
